AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to special notice to the news media of the meeting of a |
|
|
governmental body in certain situations under the open meetings |
|
|
law. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 551.047, Government |
|
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) The presiding officer or member shall give the notice by |
|
|
telephone, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail [telegraph]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subsection (b), Section 551.052, Government |
|
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The notice shall be by telephone, facsimile |
|
|
transmission, or electronic mail [telegraph]. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
