R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 80th Legislative Session, Claudia |
|
|
Hernandez has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the |
|
|
office of State Representative Roberto Alonzo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. |
|
|
Hernandez is currently majoring in government and Mexican American |
|
|
studies; she has maintained an outstanding 3.8 grade point average, |
|
|
and her academic success has earned her the title of Longhorn |
|
|
Scholar, as well as the Rose/Silverthorne Endowed Presidential |
|
|
Scholarship and the Roger A. Enrico Scholarship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez has participated in a number of |
|
|
worthwhile endeavors while pursuing her degree, holding |
|
|
internships with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and |
|
|
LULAC National Education Service Center and volunteering her time |
|
|
to benefit the NALEO U.S. Citizenship Workshop; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship at the State |
|
|
Capitol, Ms. Hernandez has been of great assistance to |
|
|
Representative Alonzo's office; in addition to enhancing her |
|
|
knowledge of the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |
|
|
of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable work experience in |
|
|
the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and |
|
|
she may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Claudia Hernandez for her exemplary |
|
|
service as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Roberto Alonzo and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
