A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to human papilloma virus vaccine requirements. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 161.004, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) The immunization schedule adopted under Subsection |
|
|
(a) may not include vaccination against human papilloma virus. The |
|
|
executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission |
|
|
may not require immunization for human papilloma virus for |
|
|
admission to any elementary or secondary school under Section |
|
|
38.001 or for admission to any other program or facility. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
