A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to human papilloma virus vaccine requirements.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Section 161.004, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
       (a-1)  The immunization schedule adopted under Subsection
(a) may not include vaccination against human papilloma virus.  The
executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission
may not require immunization for human papilloma virus for
admission to any elementary or secondary school under Section
38.001 or for admission to any other program or facility.
       SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
