  H.B. No. 432
 
 
 
 
AN ACT
  relating to the prosecution of the offense of the sale of
  prison-produced articles or products.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 497.010, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
         (d)  It is an exception to the application of this section
  that the actor was an inmate or state jail defendant confined in a
  facility operated by or under contract with the department who sold
  or offered to sell an art or craft in the manner authorized under
  Section 501.013(b).
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies to an
  offense committed before, on, or after the effective date of this
  Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
