Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Standing Senate Subcommittee on Emerging Technologies & Economic Development was held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, in the Betty King Committee Hearing Room, 2E.20, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

The Subcommittee Interim Charges: 1,2 & 3 were laid out, and invited witnesses testified in

three panels,  according to the charge being discussed.  Public testimony was then heard from

citizens  registering at the hearing. Witnesses testifying and those registering on the charges are

shown on the attached list. 

 

At 11:50 a.m. Senator Janek moved that the committee stand recessed until 12:00 p.m; without

objection, it was so ordered.  At 12:02 p.m. the committee reconvened, and Senator Janek resumed the chair. 

 

The chair then moved at 2:15 p.m. that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was

so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 2:18 p.m. Senator Janek moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
