         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and with  
         permission to meet while the house was in session, the House  
         Committee on Law Enforcement met on May 20, 2005 in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Driver, at 2:20 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Driver; Hegar; Burnam; Hupp; Veasey  
                    (5). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Jackson, Jim; Frost (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1263 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1263. 
          
         Representative Hegar offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Hegar moved that SB 1263, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Driver; Hegar; Burnam; Hupp;  
                         Veasey (5). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         Representatives Jackson, Jim; Frost  (2). 
          
         At 2:24 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
