Pursuant to a notice posted on August 22, 2006, the House Committee on Natural Resources met in a joint public hearing with the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and was called to order by the chair, Representative Puente, at 10:10 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Puente; Callegari; Geren; Hardcastle (4).

 

Absent:              Representatives Hope; Bonnen; Campbell; Hilderbran; Laney (5).

 

State and Regional Water Issues

 

The committees considered testimony relating to state and regional water issues, specifically the South Central Texas (L) Region and the Edwards Aquifer Authority.

At 12:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:15 p.m., September 22, 2006.

 

The committee reconvened at 1:20 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Puente. The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:             Representatives Puente; Callegari; Geren; Hardcastle; Hilderbran (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Hope; Bonnen; Campbell; Laney (4).

 

A quorum was present.
