         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 23, 2005, the House  
         Committee on Insurance met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Smithee, at 1:35 p.m. 
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:    Representatives Seaman; Isett; Oliveira (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 526.The chair recognized Representative  
         Berman to explain the measure.  
         Representative Seaman offered a complete committee substitute.  
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
         The chair recognized Representative Berman to close on the  
         measure. The committee substitute was withdrawn without  
         objection. 
         The bill was left pending without objection.

         The chair laid out HB 654 and HB 655. The chair recognized  
         Representative Goolsby to explain the measures.  (Representative

         The chair laid out HB 935. The chair recognized Representative  
         Taylor to explain the measure. Testimony was taken.  (See  
         attached witness list.)The chair recognized Representative  
         Taylor to close on the measure. Representative Seaman moved that  
         HB 935, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full  
         house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and  
         be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The  
         motion prevailed by the following record vote:
