         Pursuant to a notice posted on September 29, 2005, the House  
         Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Keel, at 11:24  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Keel; Denny; Escobar; Hodge; Reyna  
                    (5). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Riddle; Pena; Moreno, Paul; Raymond  
                    (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The House Committee on General Investigating and Ethics was  
         called to order by the vice-chair, Representative Paxton at  
         11:24 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Paxton; Keel; Dutton; Flynn (4) 
          
         Absent:   Representative Bailey (1) 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The chair, Representative Keel, moved that  the Committee on  
         Criminal Jurisprudence of  the House of Representatives, under  
         the hand of the chair of the committee, in accordance with House  
         Rule 4, Section 21, issue a subpoena to compel the attendance of  
         the following individuals before the committee at  2 p.m. today  
         and at each meeting thereafter until discharged by the  
         committee, to testify as to on issues pertaining to allegations  
         of possible civil rights violations that may have been committed  
         under color of law in the application of nuisance abatement  
         authority by the City of Dallas: 
          
         Officer Ricardo A. Campbell  
         Brooks Macon 
         Telitha Shaw 
         James  Gardner 
          
         The motion prevailed by the following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Keel; Denny; Escobar; Hodge;  
                         Reyna (5). 
 
          Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         Representatives Riddle; Pena; Moreno, Paul;

         The chair, Representative Keel, moved that  the Committee on  
         Criminal Jurisprudence of  the House of Representatives, under  
         the hand of the chair of the committee, in accordance with House  
         Rule 4, Section 21, issue a subpoena and an attachment of  
         witness to compel the attendance of the Hushmukh Makan before  
         the committee instanter and at each meeting thereafter until  
         discharged by the committee, to testify as to on issues  
         pertaining to allegations of possible civil rights violations  
         that may have been committed under color of law in the  
         application of nuisance abatement authority by the City of  
         Dallas. 
          
         The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

                         Reyna (5). 
          
         Nays:           None (0).
