Pursuant to a notice posted on June 24, 2005, the House
Committee on Business & Industry met in a Public Hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Giddings, at 11:12
a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Giddings; Bailey; Bohac; Elkins and
Zedler (5).
Absent: Representatives Martinez; Solomons; Taylor and Vo
(4).
A quorum was present.
The Public Hearing was scheduled for the purpose of receiving
testimony as to:
TOPIC No. 1--the progress of the transition from the Texas
Workers Compensation Commission to the Texas Department of
Insurance those functions that relate to the system of workers
compensation in Texas;
TOPIC No. 2--the status of return-to-work outcomes for those
persons in Texas who sustain an on-the-job injury; and
TOPIC No. 3--the procedures used to add a doctor's name to the
Approved Doctor List, to retain a doctor's name on that list,
and to delete a doctor's name from that list.

Testimony was taken on TOPIC No. 1. (See attached witness
list.)
Testimony was taken on TOPIC No. 2. (See attached witness
list.)
Testimony was taken on TOPIC No. 3. (See attached witness
list.)

At 2:07 p.m., on motion of the Chair and without objection, the
meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the Chair.
