Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 4,
2005, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Giddings, at 1:00 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Martinez; Bailey; Solomons; Taylor

A quorum was present.
The chair moved that the March 15, 2005, minutes for the House
Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The corrected
minutes were authorized without objection.
The chair moved that the March 22, 2005, minutes for the House
Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The corrected
minutes were authorized without objection.
HB 1578
The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the committee
reported HB 1578, without amendment, to the full house. The
motion prevailed without objection.

The chair laid out HB 1578.
The chair moved that HB 1578, without amendment, be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
