         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 12, 2006, the House  
         Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Hardcastle, at  
         1:07 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Hardcastle; Brown, Betty; Herrero  
                    (3). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Anderson; Burnam; Farrar; Olivo (4). 
          
         Interim Charge #3 
          
         The Committee considered testimony relating to the following  
         charge:  Research and determine the potential contributions of  
         Texas agriculture to the energy supply, including examination of  
         the role of ethanol, biodiesel, and biomass. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The Committee was glad to welcome Representative Swinford, who  
         joined the committee for the duration of the hearing. 
          
         (Representative Anderson now present.) 
          
         At 4:20 p.m., on the motion of Representative Betty Brown and  
         without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call  
         of the chair.
