                                                                  H.R. No. 228



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Gilbert Enriquez of Edinburg has made an indelible 
mark on his community with his generosity and public service; and
	WHEREAS, As a member of the board of the Edinburg 
Consolidated Independent School District for five years, Mr. 
Enriquez has improved the lives of countless children through 
improvements to the district; he was originally elected to the 
board at age 26, and during his tenure he has served as secretary, 
vice president, and president; and
	WHEREAS, This hardworking gentleman graduated from The 
University of Texas--Pan American with a degree in accounting; 
currently he is vice president and CFO of Enriquez Enterprises, 
Inc., a contracting company, and a developer in the McAllen and 
Edinburg areas; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to working for high-quality educational 
opportunities for area students, Mr. Enriquez has volunteered his 
time with numerous organizations, including the Edinburg Boys and 
Girls Club, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, the Edinburg Parks 
and Recreation Department, and the Valley Alliance of Mentors and 
Scholarships; and
	WHEREAS, Gilbert Enriquez has made outstanding contributions 
to Edinburg; his devotion to his city has earned him the respect of 
his neighbors, and he is most deserving of special recognition; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Gilbert Enriquez for his dedication to 
the community of Edinburg and extend to him sincere best wishes for 
the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Enriquez as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
