Amend the Chavez amendment to CSSB 1 (page 21, prefiled
amendments packet) by adding the following at the end of the
amendment:
(1) Add the following appropriately numbered rider in
Article II of the bill after the appropriations to the Health and
Human Services Commission:
__. Contingent Appropriation: Personal Needs Allowance.
Contingent on the enactment and becoming law of HB 24, or similar
legislation of the 79th Legislature, Regular Session, 2005, that
results in an increase in the personal needs allowance for certain
Medicaid recipients who are residents of long-term care facilities
to at least $75 and in addition to other amounts appropriated by
this Act, the amount of $30,500,000 is appropriated out of the
General Revenue Fund to the Health and Human Services Commission
for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2006, for the purpose of
increasing the personal needs allowance to at least $75, and the
additional amount of $30,500,000 is appropriated out of the General
Revenue Fund to the Health and Human Services Commission for the
state fiscal year ending August 31, 2007, for the same purpose.
(2) In Article VII, on page VII-8, A.1.9. Mass Media
Advertising Contracts, by striking "$33,000,000" for Year Ending
August 31, 2006 and substituting "$1,000,000" for Year Ending
August 31, 2006 and by striking "$33,000,000" for Year Ending
August 31, 2007 and substituting "$1,000,000" for Year Ending
August 31, 2007.
