Amend CSSB 1 by adding the following appropriately numbered
rider in Article I of the bill after the appropriation to the
Department of Information Resources:
_____. Contingency for HB 1516 or SB 1547.
(a) This rider is contingent on the enactment of HB 1516, SB
1547, or similar legislation by the 79th Legislature, Regular
Session, 2005, that becomes law relating to the Department of
Information Resources' management of state electronic and
telecommunications services.
(b) The Department of Information Resources shall identify
projected savings resulting from:
(1) the transfer of information resources,
information resources technologies, and related services to the
department in relation to the operation of the statewide technology
centers; and
(2) the purchase of commodity software, commodity
hardware, and other information services.
(c) The Department of Information Resources shall report
the projected savings for each affected state agency, by fiscal
year and by the major method of finance, to the Legislative Budget
Board for certification. On certification by the Legislative
Budget Board, the comptroller shall reduce the appropriations to
the affected agency by the amount certified.
