         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 24,  
         2003, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Wilson, at 4:15 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Wilson; McCall; Keffer, Jim; Paxton;  
                   Ritter (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Pitts; Hilderbran; Luna; Woolley (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 270 
          
         The chair laid out SB 270 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Wilson offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative McCall moved that SB 270, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Wilson; McCall; Keffer, Jim;  
                             Paxton; Ritter (5).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Pitts; Hilderbran; Luna; Woolley   
                        (4).  
           
         SCR 1 
          
         The chair laid out SCR 1. 
          
         Representative McCall moved that SCR 1, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:

                             Paxton; Ritter (5).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         Representative Ritter moved that the May 10, 2003 minutes for  
         the House Committee on Ways & Means be corrected. The corrected  
         minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         At 4:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
