         Pursuant to a suspension of the House rules allowing the  
         committee to meet while the house was in session, and an  
         announcement from the house floor on May 24, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Transportation met in a formal meeting and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Krusee, at 11:50  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Krusee; Phillips; Harper-Brown; Laney;  
                   Mercer (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Hamric; Edwards; Garza; Hill (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 203 
          
         The chair laid out SB 203. 
          
         Representative Laney moved that SB 203, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Krusee; Phillips;  
                             Harper-Brown; Laney; Mercer (5).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         At 11:51 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
