Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 16,
2003, the House Committee on Judicial Affairs met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Hartnett, at 4:13 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

The chair laid out SB 88, the companion to HB 572.
Representative Alonzo moved that SB 88, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hartnett; Alonzo; Corte;
Hughes; Rodriguez (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Smith, Todd; Solis; Telford;

The chair laid out SB 1794, the companion to HB 2401.
Representative Alonzo moved that SB 1794, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
