Pursuant to a two hour notice posted on May 14, 2003 at 11:53 am
and notice given to all committee members two hours before the
set meeting time, the House Committee on Human Services met in a
formal meeting and was called to order by the acting chair,
Representative Wohlgemuth at 2:09 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Wohlgemuth; Christian; McCall; Miller;
Reyna (5).
Absent: Representatives Uresti; Naishtat; Olivo; Villarreal
(4).
A quorum was present.
Representative McCall moved that Representative Wohlgemuth
preside as acting chair for the May 14, 2003 formal meeting.
Representative Christian seconded the motion. Motion passes
without objection.

The chair laid out SB 60.
The chair referred the bill to the subcommittee on SB 60.
The chair named the following members to the subcommittee on SB
60: Representative McCall, Chair; Representatives Reyna and
Villarreal.

The chair recognized Representative Wohlgemuth to explain the
measure.
Representative Wohlgemuth offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.

reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
