                                 CORRECTED MINUTES 
                                           
         On March 6, 2003, the House Committee on Defense Affairs and  
         State-Federal Relations authorized the correction of the   
         minutes for the meeting of the House Committee on Defense  
         Affairs and State-Federal Relations held on February 27, 2003.  
         The following are the corrected minutes for that meeting: 
          
         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 21, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Defense Affairs and State-Federal Relations met in  
         a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Corte, at 8:10 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Corte; Campbell; Berman; Delisi;  
                   Mabry; Moreno, Paul; Seaman (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Merritt; Noriega (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 545, HB 198, HB 199, HB 142 AND HB 18 
          
         The chair laid out HB 545, HB 198, HB 199, HB 142 AND HB 18. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Wohlgemuth to explain HB  
         545.  
          
         (Representative Noriega now present.) 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Berman to explain HB 198 and  
         HB 199.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hupp to explain HB 142. 
          
         The chair explained HB 18. 
          
         Testimony was taken on HB 545, HB 198, HB 199, HB 142 and HB 18.   
         (See attached witness list.) 
          
         HB 545, HB 198, HB 199, HB 142 and HB 18 were left pending  
         without objection. 
          
         The chair recognized invited testimony from the Texas Veterans  
         Commission. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
  
         At 9:59 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
