         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 5, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Ethics, Select met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Wolens, at 9:01  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Wolens; Dukes; Denny; Hope; Isett;  
                   Kolkhorst (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Gallego (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 795 
          
         The chair laid out HB 795. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Solomons to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         (Representative Gallego now present.) 
          
         HB 1606 
          
         The chair laid out HB 1606. 
          
         The chair recognized himself to explain the measure.  
          
         Testimony was taken regarding both HB 795 and HB 1606.  (See  
         attached witness list.) 
          
         Both HB 795 and HB 1606 were left pending without objection.  
          
         At 11:35 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 9:00 a.m., March 17, 2003.
