         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 22,  
         2003, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the chair, Representative Denny, at  
         7:09 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Denny; Howard; Deshotel; Bohac;  
                   Coleman; Harper-Brown; Uresti (7). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1611 
          
         The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was  
         reported from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed  
         without objection.  
         The chair laid out SB1611. 
         The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection. 
         Representative Harper-Brown offered a complete committee  
         substitute. 
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
         Representative Bohac moved that SB 1611, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Denny; Howard; Deshotel;  
                             Bohac; Coleman; Harper-Brown; Uresti (7).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        None  (0).  
           
         At 7:15 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
