         Upon final adjourn./recess

         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21,  
         2003, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the chair, Representative Denny, at  
         6:18 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Denny; Howard; Deshotel; Bohac;  
                   Harper-Brown (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Coleman; Uresti (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1611 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1611. 
          
         The chair offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The chair explained the committee substitute. 
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         (Representative Uresti now present.) 
          
         Representative Howard moved that SB 1611, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Denny; Howard; Deshotel;  
                             Bohac; Harper-Brown; Uresti (6).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representative Coleman  (1).  
  
         At 6:23 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
                        the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
