         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21,  
         2003, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the chair, Representative Allen, at  
         6:25 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick; Haggerty (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Alonzo; Farrar; Mabry (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 921 
          
         The chair laid out SB 921, the companion to HB 1482. 
          
         Representative Hopson offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Hopson moved that SB 921, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick;  
                             Haggerty (4).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Alonzo; Farrar; Mabry  (3).  
           
         SB 1678 
          
         Representative Haggerty moved to reconsider the vote by which  
         the measure was reported from committee. The motion to  
         reconsider prevailed without objection.  
          
         Representative Haggerty moved that SB 1678, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick;  
                             Haggerty (4).  
  
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Alonzo; Farrar; Mabry  (3).  
           
         At 6:31 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
