         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 15,  
         2003, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the chair, Representative Allen, at  
         8:40 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Allen; Hopson; Alonzo; Haggerty (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Stick; Farrar; Mabry (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 2624 
          
         The chair laid out HB 2624 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Allen offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Haggerty to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         (Representative Mabry now present.) 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Haggerty to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         Representative Hopson moved that HB 2624, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Allen; Hopson; Alonzo;  
                             Haggerty (4).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Mabry  (1).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Stick; Farrar  (2).  
           
         At 8:47 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
