         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 10, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Allen, at 7:06 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Allen; Hopson; Alonzo; Haggerty (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Stick; Farrar; Mabry (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 1669 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Hopson offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Allen to explain the  
         measure.

         (Representative Mabry now present.) 
          
         The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection. 
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.
