         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 28, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Redistricting met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Crabb, at 12:30  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Crabb; Grusendorf; Krusee; Luna;  
                   Marchant; McClendon; Pitts; Raymond (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Villarreal; Flores; Isett; King;  
                   Morrison; Talton; Wilson (7). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 2261 
          
         The chair laid out HB 2261. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative West, George "Buddy" to  
         explain the measure.  
          
         Representative Krusee offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         (Representative Morrison now present.) 
          
         (Representative King now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Luna to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Marchant moved that HB 2261, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Crabb; Grusendorf; King;  
                             Krusee; Luna; Marchant; McClendon; Morrison;  
                             Pitts; Raymond (10).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         At 12:55 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
