         Pursuant to permission granted to meet while the house was in  
         session and an announcement from the house floor on May 23,  
         2003, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Giddings, at 6:49 p.m.

         Representative Elkins moved that SCR 48, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the

         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
