         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 25, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Border and International Affairs met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Chavez, at 8:23 a.m.

         SB 1084 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1084. Representative Griggs moved that SB  
         1084, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full  
         house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and  
         be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The  
         motion prevailed by the following record vote:

                             Castro (4).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         The chair laid out HCR 204.  The chair recognized Representative  
         Ch vez to explain the measure.  Representative Canales moved  
         that HCR 204, without amendments, be reported favorably to the  
         full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be  
         printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent  
         Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
