The Education Committee will hold a joint hearing with the Special
Commission on 21st Century Colleges and Universities beginning at 9:00 a.m.
in the Capitol Extension Auditorium.  The joint hearing will conclude at
11:00 a.m. when the Senate convenes.  Upon adjournment of the Senate, the
Education Committee will reconvene in room E1.012 of the Capitol Extension
to hear the following bills:


SB 71            Haywood
Relating to the compensation and reimbursement of expenses of
members of the Midwestern State University board of regents.

SB 72            Haywood
Relating to the titles of the presiding officers of the board of
regents of Texas Woman's University.

SB 73            Haywood
Relating to the removal of members of the board of regents of
Midwestern State University.

SB 74            Haywood
Relating to the terms of members of the advisory board of the Texas
Academy of Mathematics and Science.

SB 77            Haywood
Relating to the removal of members of the board of regents of Texas
Woman's University.

SB 82            Madla
Relating to courses offered by a public junior college for joint
high school and junior college credit.

SB 116            Wentworth
Relating to authorizing the board of trustees of an independent
school district to donate certain surplus district property to a
municipality, county, or nonprofit organization in order to
preserve the property.

SB 149            Carona
Relating to the colleges and universities eligible to participate
in the tuition equalization grant program.

SB 206            Bivins
Relating to the transfer of and funding for public school students
who are the victims of certain criminal offenses.

SB 208            Bivins
Relating to reporting the academic performance of public high
school graduates in institutions of higher education.

SB 209            Bivins
Relating to the boards of trustees of certain special-purpose
school districts.

SB 210            Bivins
Relating to eligibility under the Early High School Graduation
Scholarship program.

SB 386            Bivins
Relating to eliminating obsolete references to the Amarillo campus
of the Texas State Technical College System.

SB 387            Bivins
Relating to high school diplomas for certain veterans.

SJR 2            Wentworth
Proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to
authorize the board of trustees of an independent school district
to donate certain surplus district property of historical
significance in order to preserve the property.
