         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, April 30, 2001, in E1.714.

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 
         Senator Brown moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearing held on April 26, 2001; without objection, it was so  
         ordered.     
          
         Chairman Cain asked if there were any questions or comments  
         about any of the bills recommended for the May 3, 2001, Local  
         and Uncontested Calendar.  There was discussion.  Senator  
         Moncrief moved that all of the bills on page one of the  
         recommended list be certified for the Local and Uncontested  
         Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.  Senator  
         Zaffirini moved that all of the bills on page two of the  
         recommended list be certified for the Local and Uncontested  
         Calendar with the exception of SB 681 and SB 745.   Without  
         objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Zaffirini moved that all  
         of the bills on page three of the recommended list be certified  
         for the Local and Uncontested Calendar with the exception of SB  
         1377 and SB 1445.   Without objection, it was so ordered.   
         Senator Brown moved that all of the bills on page four of the  
         recommended list be certified for the Local and Uncontested  
         Calendar with the exception of SB 1568, SB 1707, SB 1720 and SB  
         1825.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 4:36 p.m. Senator Brown  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
