         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Wednesday, January 31, 2001, in the  
         Senate Chamber at Senator Cain's Desk

         The chair called the meeting to order at 11:18 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Brown moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearings held on January 24, 2001, and January 25, 2001; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         At 11:19 a.m. Senator Ogden assumed the chair.   
          
         The chair laid out SCR11 and recognized Senator Cain, in the  
         absence of the author, to explain the bill.  Senator Ogden moved  
         that SCR11 be reported favorably to the Senate with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion  
         carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not  
         voting, and 0 absent.   
          
         Senator Cain resumed the chair.   
          
         There being no further business, at 11:21 a.m. Senator Moncrief  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
