Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17,
2001, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Carter, at 12:00 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Carter; Bailey; Burnam; Ehrhardt;
Hill; Jones, Elizabeth; Najera (7).
Absent: Representatives Callegari; Edwards (2).
A quorum was present.
SB 1564
The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was
reported from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed
without objection.
Representative Carter offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Najera moved that SB 1564, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Carter; Bailey; Burnam;
Ehrhardt; Jones, Elizabeth; Najera (6).
Nays: Representative Hill (1).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Callegari; Edwards (2).

The chair laid out SB 557.
Representative Bailey moved that SB 557, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
