         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 24, 2001, revised on  
         January 26 and 31, 2001, the House Committee on State Affairs  
         met in a public hearing with the Senate Committee on Business  
         and Commerce, and the committees were called to order by their  
         chairmen, Representative Wolens and Senator Sibley, at 2:41 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Wolens; Turner, Sylvester; Bailey;  
                   Brimer; Counts; Danburg; Hunter; Jones, Delwin;  
                   Longoria; McClendon; Merritt (11). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Craddick; Hilbert; Marchant; McCall  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present.  A quorum of the Senate Committee on  
         Business and Commerce was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of electric utility  
         restructuring.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative McCall now present.) 
          
         (Representative Craddick now present.) 
          
         (Representative Marchant now present.) 
          
         At 8:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
