         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 30, 2002, the House  
         Committee on Public Safety met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Turner, Bob, at  
         10:10 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Bob; Keel; Driver; Hupp; Isett  
                   (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Berman; Gutierrez; King, Phil;  
                   Villarreal, Mike (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Turner read the House Committee on Public Safety's  
         interim charges handed down by Speaker Laney. 
          
         Chairman Turner laid out Interim Charger number two: 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         Chairman Turner recalled witnesses to make recommendations to  
         the committee. 
          
         At 11:15 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
