         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         2001, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues  
         met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Goodman, at 4:30 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Goodman; Reyna, Arthur; King, Phil;  
                   Morrison; Nixon, Joe; Reyna, Elvira; Tillery (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Menendez; Naishtat (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 70 
          
         The chair laid out SB 70 as pending business.  
          
         The chair offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative King, Phil moved that SB 70, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Goodman; King, Phil;  
                             Morrison; Nixon, Joe; Reyna, Elvira; Tillery  
                             (6).  
           
         Nays:               Representative Reyna, Arthur (1).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Menendez; Naishtat  (2).  
           
         At 4:31 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
