         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 15,  
         2001, the House Committee on Environmental Regulation met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Chisum, at 6:56 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Chisum; Bonnen; Bosse; Geren; Howard;  
                   Kuempel; Zbranek (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Dukes; Uher (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         SB 1541 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1541. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Chisum to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         Representative Geren offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Geren moved that SB 1541, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Chisum; Bonnen; Geren;  
                             Howard; Kuempel (5).  
           
         Nays:               Representative Zbranek (1).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Bosse  (1).
