         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 20, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Economic Development met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Solis, Jim, at  
         8:39 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Solis, Jim; Keffer; McClendon; Seaman;  
                   Yarbrough (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Clark; Deshotel; Homer; Luna, Vilma  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1282 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1282. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Oliveira to explain the  
         measure.

         Representative Seaman moved that SB 1282, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:

                             McClendon; Seaman; Yarbrough (6).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         The chair laid out SB 1205. 
          
         Representative Solis, Jim offered a complete committee  
         substitute.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hamric to explain the  
         measure.

         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         The chair directed that the April 11, 2001, minutes for the  
         House Committee on Economic Development be corrected. The  
         corrected minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         At 9:42 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
