         Insurance, met in a public hearing and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Yarbrough, at 8:20 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Yarbrough; Homer; Seaman (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Clark (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         INVITED TESTIMONY 
          
         Texas Workforce Commission presented the committee with an  
         overview of the Texas Unemployment Insurance System.

         The chair laid out HB 1708. 
          
         The chair explained the measure.

         The chair recognized Representative Keffer to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.

         The chair recognized Representative Brimer to explain the  
         measures.
