         Upon lunch recess

         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 7, 2001, and an announcement  
         on the house floor, the House Committee on Criminal  
         Jurisprudence met in a formal meeting and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Hinojosa, at 12:30 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hinojosa; Dunnam; Garcia; Green; Keel;  
                   Kitchen; Martinez Fischer; Shields; Talton (9). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The chair directed that the April 3, 2001, minutes for the House  
         Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence be corrected. The corrected  
         minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         SB 1174 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1174, the companion to HB 1919. 
          
         Representative Kitchen moved that SB 1174, without amendments,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Hinojosa; Dunnam; Green;  
                             Keel; Kitchen; Martinez Fischer; Shields;  
                             Talton (8).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         The chair laid out SB 1033, the companion to HB 1618. 
          
         Representative Talton moved that SB 1033, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:
