         Pursuant to a suspension of the rules to meet while the House is  
         in Session and an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         2001, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Bosse, at 6:35 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Martinez Fischer (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Nixon, Joe; Smithee; Zbranek (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1106 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1106 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Janek offered an amendment to the measure.  
          
         The amendment was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Hope moved that SB 1106, as amended, be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
         pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following  
         record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Bosse; Janek; Clark; Dutton;  
                             Hope; Martinez Fischer (6).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         At 6:41 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
