         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 13, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Criminal Justice, met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Turner, Sylvester, at 8:35 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; Smith (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gallego; McReynolds (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the 2002-2003 budget for  
         Articles IV and V. 
          
         (Representative McReynolds now present.)(Representative Gallego  
         now present.) 
          
         At 9:45 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:30 p.m., February 14, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:33 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Turner, Sylvester. The roll was  
         answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; Smith (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gallego; McReynolds (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the 2002-2003 budget for  
         Articles IV and V. 
          
         (Representative McReynolds now present.) 
          
         At 1:58 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 2:30 p.m., February 14, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 2:30 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Turner, Sylvester. The roll was  
         answered as follows:

                   Smith (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Gallego (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the 2002-2003 budget for
