         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 6, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Criminal Justice,  
         Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, met in a formal meeting and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Turner,  
         Sylvester, at 2:12 p.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; McReynolds;  
                   Smith (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Gallego (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the 2002-2003 budget for  
         Articles IV & V. 
          
         At 3:28 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 3:40 p.m., February 7, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 3:40 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Turner, Sylvester. The roll was  
         answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; McReynolds  
                   (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gallego; Smith (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the 2002-2003 budget for  
         Articles IV & V. 
          
         (Representative Smith now present.) 
          
         At 4:49 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 5:15 p.m., February 7, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 5:19 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Turner, Sylvester. The roll was  
         answered as follows:
