R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On March 31, 2001, the Honorable Nolan J. "Buzz"
 1-2     Robnett reached the ripe old age of 60, and the Texas House of
 1-3     Representatives takes great pleasure in acknowledging this notable
 1-4     milestone in his life; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Robnett
 1-6     earned a seat in the Texas House of Representatives in 1978, and
 1-7     over the course of seven legislative sessions his efforts
 1-8     significantly benefited his constituents in the Lubbock area and
 1-9     citizens across the Lone Star State; and
1-10           WHEREAS, This dynamic public servant was an active and
1-11     informed voice on the House Appropriations, Business and Industry,
1-12     Calendars, Elections, Energy Resources, Environmental Affairs,
1-13     Financial Institutions, General Investigating, and Government
1-14     Organization committees, and he also exhibited outstanding
1-15     leadership as chairman of the House Retirement and Aging Committee;
1-16     and
1-17           WHEREAS, Although his nativity date is perilously close to
1-18     April Fool's Day, Mr. Robnett has consistently proven to friend and
1-19     adversary alike that a fool is something he could never be taken
1-20     for, and his mental acuity remains one of his keenest assets, even
1-21     given his advancing age; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Mr. Robnett's absence from the floor of the Texas
1-23     house as an elected representative has not made him a forgotten
1-24     man, and the members of this chamber are proud to join his
 2-1     daughters, Denise and Jennifer, as well as the rest of his family,
 2-2     friends, and business associates in helping him endure this joyful
 2-3     event; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-5     Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Nolan J. "Buzz"
 2-6     Robnett on the momentous occasion of his 60th birthday and extend
 2-7     to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
 2-8     further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Mr. Robnett as an expression of high regard from his
2-11     friends and former colleagues in the Texas House of
2-12     Representatives.
