Amend CSSB 1156, by adding, on page 7, line 9, the following
as Section 6 and renumber the following as necessary.
      Section 6.  Section 1, Chapter 11, Human Resources Code is
amended by adding new subsection 11.001(7) to read as follows:
(7)  "Spouse" means a husband, who is a male, or a wife, who is a
female.  A member of a civil union or similar relationship entered
into in another state between persons of the same sex is not a
spouse.
