Relating to adopting a statute mandating a uniform jury summons.

Relating to the duty of the Department of Public Safety to remove
certain names from a list used to reconstitute the jury wheel.

SB 320            Ellis, Rodney
Relating to the collection of fines and court costs from persons
released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on parole or
mandatory supervision.

SB 424            Carona
Relating to the examination required for certification as a court
reporter.




SCR 12            Ellis, Rodney
Requesting the comptroller of public accounts to develop strategies to
increase efficiency and reduce complexity of fee collection and dispersal
by county and municipal clerks.

SCR 13            Ellis, Rodney
Urging the Supreme Court of Texas to adopt a rule to allow trial
courts discretion in permitting jurors to take notes during trial.

SCR 15            Ellis, Rodney
Directing the Texas Judicial Council to examine the costs of increasing
reimbursement of jurors' expenses to $40 after the first day of trial and
to examine the feasibility of allowing counties to offer incentives to
jurors for service.

Directing the Office of Court Administration to study and develop uniform
guidelines for media pooling agreements for courtroom coverage.

Proposing a constitutional amendment providing for gubernatorial
appointment to fill vacancies in the offices of appellate justices
and judges, for nonpartisan retention elections for those justices
and judges, and for gubernatorial appointment to fill vacancies in
the office of district judge in accordance with certain standards.
