MINUTES SENATE COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES Subcommittee on Agriculture Thursday, March 11, 1999 1:00 pm Capitol Extension, Room E1.012 ***** Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.11, a public hearing Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Subcommittee on Agriculture was held on Thursday, March 11, 1999 in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Tom Haywood Senator Teel Bivins Senator Kenneth Armbrister ***** The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:10 pm. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted. The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Teel Bivins Senator Armbrister moved that the Minutes from the previous hearing be adopted. There bring no objection, it was so ordered.. The Chair laid out SB 705 and recognized the author, Senator Ogden, to explain the bill. Senator Haywood sent up a committee substitute; the Chair recognized Senator Ogden to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the bill as filed. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. The Chair then closed public testimony on SB 705. Senator Armbrister moved that SB 705 do not pass but that CSSB 705 be reported back to full Committee with the recommendation that it do pass. The motion carried with 3 ayes, 0nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. The Chair laid out SB 754 and recognized Senator Armbrister, in the absence of the author, to explain the bill. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. Senator Bivins moved that SB 754 be reported favorably to the full Committee with the recommendation that it do pass. The motion carried with a vote of 3 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. There being no further business, at 1:26 pm Senator Bivins moved that the Committee be adjourned.
