         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 26, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Ways & Means met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Oliveira, at 1:56 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Oliveira; Davis, Yvonne; Heflin;  
                   Keffer; Ramsay; Sadler (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives McCall; Bonnen; Craddick; Hilbert;  
                   King, Tracy (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Internet Taxation 
          
         The chair laid out the interim charge to: 
          
              Study the economic impact of Internet commerce on state and  
              local revenues; and. 
              Monitor the activities and recommendations of the federal  
              Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:12 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 9:30 a.m., May 5, 2000.
