         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 7, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Ways & Means met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Ren  Oliveira at  
         7:47 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Hilbert; Keffer; King, Tracy; Ramsay (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Davis, Yvonne; Heflin; Sadler (3).

         The chair laid out SB 1118.   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Olivo to explain the  
         measure.
