         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 4,  
         1999, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Ren  Oliveira at 4:31 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         The chair laid out HB 1218 as pending business.   
          
         Representative Craddick offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Oliveira moved that HB 1218, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the  
         following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Oliveira; Craddick; Davis,  
                        Yvonne; Hilbert; Keffer; Ramsay; Sadler (7).

         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the
